Senior Systems Engineer

Overview

The Test Environment Management team is looking for an experienced test environment management resource to manage and maintain the mainframe and distributed lower environments.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams to setup and maintain the lower environments
• Ensure the lower environments are available, stable and configured to meet the requirements of ongoing testing efforts
• Analyze lower environment issues and work with infrastructure and applications team to address performance or reoccurring issues
• Communicate environment availability and changes to the lower environment user base
• Work closely with QA, development and infrastructure teams to align environment configurations with project needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the lower environments (ex – system failures, environment configurations, data issues)
• Implement best practices for developer community to adopt when using the lower environments

Qualifications:

• Requires a BA/BS degree and/or 8+ years of experience working with lower environments (primarily on the mainframe side)
• Proven experience managing lower environments and troubleshooting issues
• Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies (IBM z/OS, CICS, DB2, COBOL, MQs)
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud-based platforms/container services, such as PCF and GCP
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Logging Tools (Splunk), Enterprise Monitoring tools (ThousandEyes) and Synthetic Monitoring tools
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $55.08 to $61.20 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
