We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer for our Global client. This will be a hybrid one-year remote engagement starting in the middle of September in Beaverton, OR. You will be a critical player in safeguarding cutting-edge technology and vast networks. Your expertise will directly impact the security posture of a global organization, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its valuable data and systems. In this impactful role, you will dive deep into the world of penetration testing, focusing on web applications, APIs, and network infrastructure. You’ll be on the front lines of defense, proactively identifying vulnerabilities and collaborating with teams to implement robust security solutions. Your insights will shape security strategies and strengthen the overall resilience of the organization’s digital landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct penetration testing on web applications, APIs, and networks, adhering to established scopes and rules of engagement.
  • Provide expert technical guidance for remediating identified vulnerabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with other cybersecurity teams, including Incident Response, Governance, Risk, and Threat Intelligence, to ensure comprehensive security coverage.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of IT professional experience, including 2+ years specifically in penetration testing or application security.
  • Strong understanding of application development, networking, systems administration, and information security best practices.
  • Deep technical knowledge of web application development, security flaws, and remediation techniques.
  • Proven experience with open-source and commercial testing tools, including web interception proxies, packet capture tools, debuggers, and API interaction tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and concise reporting of technical findings.
  • Experience performing security tasks within cloud environments (AWS or Azure).
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and operates with a high sense of urgency and integrity.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as GWAPT, OSCP, or GPEN.
  • Experience working in large-scale environments with diverse technologies.
  • Ability to automate technical tasks using APIs or scripting.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $55 to $62 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
