In this exciting Buyer role, you’ll be responsible for curating and adapting product assortments for inline stores. You’ll leverage data analysis, market trends, and consumer insights to inform decisions for upcoming seasons while optimizing current in-season performance. Collaboration is key, as you’ll partner with various teams, including merchandising, planning, allocation, visual merchandising, and brand marketing, to ensure alignment and successful execution of assortment strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine consumer-centric assortment plans across multiple seasons, considering market positioning and competitive landscape.
- Utilize historical data, analytics, and real-time market feedback to inform assortment decisions.
- Participate in seasonal buy reviews and in-season trading discussions to optimize growth and profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and brand strategies.
- Mentor and guide individual contributors, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in buying, merchandising, product creation, or retail in a vertical, multi-brand, or digital environment.
- Proven retail competence and analytical abilities.
- Strong understanding of retail environments and consumer behavior.
- Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Strong affinity for current market trends.
- Footwear, apparel, equipment, or relevant consumer product buying/merchandising experience.
- Understanding of retail profit metrics (e.g., sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT).
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $32 to $35 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
