This exciting role offers the chance to:

• Modernize existing mainframe applications and contribute to cloud migration strategies.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver impactful solutions.
• Champion best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies and robust testing strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of critical communication systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support mainframe batch applications using COBOL, JCL, and other related technologies.
• Lead all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Collaborate with business users and product owners to prioritize and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Contribute to the migration of mainframe applications to distributed and/or cloud-based architectures.
• Enforce architectural guidelines and best practices in software development.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and user guides.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in developing and supporting mainframe batch applications using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of mainframe database systems such as DB2 or Datacom.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Syncsort, DF Sort, Eztrieve, and REXX.
• Experience with tools like CHANGEMAN and CONTROL-M/ESP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience migrating mainframe applications to distributed and/or cloud-based architectures.
• Exposure to distributed technologies such as Java and Unix.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) techniques.
• Experience in the financial services industry.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $61.80 to $68.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
