Make a significant impact as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) partnering with Aquent and a leading financial services firm. You will play a vital role in developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions that empower financial professionals and clients. Be a driving force in innovation, collaborating with talented engineers to deliver cutting-edge technology that shapes the future of finance.
As a key member of the team, you will contribute to critical projects by designing, developing, and executing automated test cases for web and desktop applications. Your expertise in test automation frameworks and data persistence will be essential to ensuring the robustness and reliability of these applications. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior SDETs, fostering a culture of automation best practices.
Responsibilities:

  • Interpret written requirements and technical specifications for software solutions.
  • Develop software based on technical specifications.
  • Analyze and investigate software issues reported by clients and document findings.
  • Perform software maintenance and correct identified defects.
  • Conduct unit tests, implement test plans, and document test results.
  • Investigate and propose solutions to software defects found during testing.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases for web and desktop applications.
  • Design test automation frameworks for web services, APIs, and web applications.
  • Ensure continuous automation, analysis, documentation, and reporting of failures.
  • Partner with scrum team members to build automation solutions.
  • Design data persistence using SQL, MongoDB, or other database systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance testing strategies.
  • Mentor junior SDETs and promote automation best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in automated test script development, execution, and maintenance
  • Prior Technical Lead experience (mentoring, code review, design support)
  • Hands-on coding experience in C#/.NET or another object-oriented language
  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver
  • Experience with Agile Development Practices
  • Understanding of exploratory testing practices
  • Knowledge of bug logging and test case management tools (e.g., JIRA/MTM, Zephyr/HPQ)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Web services virtualization
  • Experience with Code Reviews
  • Experience with scoping, sizing, and overseeing multiple projects
  • Experience leading a risk-based approach to software testing
  • Experience driving innovative testing solutions within an Enterprise Platform
  • Experience with Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) using Gherkin language (Cucumber, JBehave, SpecFlow)
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and lean methodologies
  • Experience with Jenkins/Bamboo/GIT

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $54 to $60 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
