Catalog Specialist

Overview

Seeking an enthusiastic, independent individual to join the Handmade team at a prominent online marketplace. This team supports a community of artisans and makers, and our criteria is defined as items that are handmade, hand-designed, hand-altered, repurposed, or upcycled. This role will focus on creating various classification mappings and hierarchies to ensure these handcrafted products are easily discoverable through the marketplace’s browse and search functionalities. The role may also support broader business initiatives for the Handmade category, impacting both sellers and customers. Qualified candidates will be independent, customer focused, highly analytical, detail-orientated, and diligent researchers with an interest in the organization of large-scale online retail.

Day to Day:

• Ensure products are populating as expected in categories on the client website.
• Catalog mapping: checking selection against their current category/subcategory mapping, and fixing if not correct (e.g., ensuring “women’s necklace” is in the right category)
• Review what customers see on client website
• Work with the Product Manager and Tech teams supporting Handmade Marketplace

Qualifications: 

• 1 – 2 years of experience (post-college)
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Business Writing (Writing SOPs / Documenting findings)
• Experience w/ data entry, catalog management
• Spreadsheet knowledge
• Highly proficient in Excel (large/raw data sets)
• SQL (nice to have)

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $27.02 to $30.03 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
