The goal of the Market Research team is to discover and illuminate insights into market conditions and customers’ wants and needs to reduce risks and maximize opportunities for our client, all in service of improving the health of the people we serve.
The Senior Market Research Professional works with marketing partners and the lines of business to define a learning agenda and key strategic insight needs. This role will focus on supporting our Medicare and Individual Insurance Products business – including product design/plan benefits, member experience, and marketing. They will play a pivotal role in insuring that the internal business teams understand and hear the voice of the customer through efficient and insightful research processes and solutions.
Responsibilites:
- Provide as-needed research support to the Market Research Department, Retail Pod by:
- Determining the key business questions to be answered
- Selecting the right research audience
- Working with external vendor(s) to identify the best research methodology
- Selecting an appropriate vendor from our approved set of research partners
- Securing research sample internally (if not using a panel)
- Sourcing internal data as well as secondary data for counts, weighting, and incidence
- Gaining approvals and alignment on research instruments from both internal stakeholders and Legal and Regulatory compliance
- Project managing the vendor through the research
- Vendor conducts data analysis and provide initial report. Senior Market Research Professional works in conjunction with the vendor to deliver a final report focused on true insights and direction to the business.
- Presenting insights to all stakeholders
- The Senior Market Research Professional may also assist other researchers on the team in larger, more complex project and assignments.
Experience:
- Strong independent worker.
- Strong project management experience and interest.
- Common degrees for this position include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, data analytics, communications, business, or related field.
- 3 or more years of market research experience and direct project management experience.
- Strong problem-solving mentality.
- Experience managing third-party research vendors by ensuring alignment of vendors with department’s research best practices, delivering high-quality research insights, and adhering to all applicable policies and protocols.
- Understanding of and experience with a variety of research methodologies.
- Experience using both primary and secondary sources of data to feed research design and results.
- Ability to take data and turn it in to a compelling story through insight, data visualization, and key implications.
- Excellent synthesis skills.
- Strong presentation skills and experience communicating complex and functional strategies to senior management.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience using and developing agile research support for quick-turn research insights.
- Master’s degree or other graduate degree.
- Experience in the health insurance industry
- SAS/SQL programming
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $36.71 to $40.79 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
