The Provider Data SQL Report Writer provides business insights, serves as the focal point for data review and remediation in peak work   periods, and develops a range of entry to moderate reports for government entities. The Provider Data SQL Report Writer Developer will work closely with the I.T. enterprise data warehouse   and application development teams. The Provider Data SQL   Report Writer will represent the Department at   multi-disciplinary and technical meetings that impact the department’s   policies, procedures, and supporting technical systems. The Provider Data SQL Report Writer will work with claims, member services, finance, and compliance   departments to provide guidance and information on provider data related   issues. 

The Provider Data SQL   Report Writer will work with our client’s Information Technology and Compliance departments to submit a range of mandatory provider   network reports for local, state, and federal government entities. These   reports will require  moderate preparation, data integration from   multiple data sources, review, and validation before our client delivers them   to the requesting entity. Reports will require a   thorough understanding of database systems, provider data, provider types,   encounters, and experience with compliance reports in a managed care   environment.

The Provider Data SQL Report Writer will respond to inquiries for operational insights from a range of   departments and will develop and test complex queries against two

complementary, although separate databases. The Provider Data SQL Report Writer will develop   operational reports and metrics that support the PNO Department Key   Performance Indicators (KPI).

The Provider Data SQL   Report Writer will act as the provider data Subject   Matter Expert (SME) for requirements   analysis, data analysis, data mapping, report development and testing, report   modifications and documentation. The Provider Data SQL   Report Writer will develop and refine quality review   programs to maintain the integrity and reliability of provider data. The Provider Data SQL Report Writer will be actively   involved in resolving escalated issues interfering with the accurate and timely use of provider data throughout and must have well-developed   problem solving skills. This position will research and analyze data that is of Low to moderate level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in data reviews, QA reports and provider data. Implement or make changes provided by the Lead SQL   Developer. Process reports to ‘C-level’ staff at LA Care and formal reports and audits   to state and federal audiences QA audit trail for provider data and be able to review and respond to data   questions. Provide technical   consulting and respond to error reports, problems and/or questions; Assist in planning for backup and recovery of   database information.
  • Maintain policy, procedures,   and reports tailored to the various user groups at LA Care such as claims   that identify provider issues , and moreover provide assistants   the Lead SQL Developer in making recommendations as to how the issues could be resolved.
  • Follow and contribute to team standards and utilize industry best   practices. Timely, relevant and   actionable reports to frontline users and supervisors on provider data   issues. 
  • Assist frontline staff resolve provider data issues through an in-depth   knowledge of the data and upstream and downstream processes. Guide business   analysts and other report writers in the department and for those staff   working on provider data at L.A. care. Become a resource   that can actively contribute to the fault finding   and resolution process when problems are identified with provider data.
  • Attend meetings provider data, with technical and business stakeholders. Work   with Lead SQL Developer in presenting the   desired provider data view and help ensure that provider data is being extracted and   interpreted appropriately. Work under Lead   SQL Developer to learn how to develop and run complex scripts.

    Experience:

  •  At least 3-5 years of experience in running entry to intermediate   reports derived from a SQL or Oracle databases   in a Managed Care environment which includes processing reports for external regulators   and other entities with 2 years experience in a reporting,or analytics team.

Skills Required:

  • Familiar with SQL and Oracle databases 
  • Knowledge with PL/SQL, SQL,   SQL*Plus; Must have the ability to Process entry to   moderate PL/SQL packages, functions, and   procedures;
  • Ability to preform entry code design in SQL databases.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite   products (especially Excel and Access).
  • Ability to perform extensive root cause identification and analysis of   problem areas.
  • Be able to work in an environment where critical time constraints exist.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and have   the ability to work effectively with users, technical personnel, and   leadership team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to achieve results within   tight deadlines.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40/hr to $48/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
