Software Development Engineer

Overview

This is a remote role.
Pay Range: $53/hr – $59/hr​

Our client is a leader in the tech space and looking for a Software Engineer to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and systems. This role will focus on maintaining existing systems and ensuring a rock-solid build and deployment tools for a new web application. The Software Engineer will work with modern web technologies such as React and Remix to build, maintain, and enhance user-facing components. A typical Software Engineer in this role researches, designs, develops, and tests software for business and general computing applications.

Required Qualifications:

• Years of Experience Required: 4+ overall years of experience in the field.
• Must have 2-4 years of experience in software development, including experience with web technologies such as React and Remix.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially important as most of the team works remotely.
• Minimum 4+ years experience with ability to work independently and manage their own time effectively, with the capability to take initiative without waiting for instructions.
• Minimum 4+ years experience with modern web technologies.
• Must have a minimum 4+ years experience with setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for reliable build and deployment processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring to development, testing, and delivery.
• Familiarity with web technologies, particularly React and Remix, and the ability to develop and maintain user-facing components.
• Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degrees or certifications required: A bachelor’s degree is considered a preference rather than a requirement for the candidate. The focus is more on the candidate’s experience and skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance existing software systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Design, develop, and implement robust build and deployment systems, including continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate development, determine project scope, and define limitations.
• Review project requests to estimate time and cost required to accomplish a project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure web applications meet quality standards and user needs.
• Develop and maintain user-facing components using React and Remix to enhance the functionality of web applications.
• In-Market Product Support: The team will provide payments and support for the existing in-market product.
• Next-Generation Product Development: Transitioning developers to work on the next-generation version of the product.
• Build Infrastructure Setup: Assisting in setting up the build infrastructure for the new project.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $53/hr – $59/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
