In this role, the candidate will be a part of the team dedicated to understanding and enhancing the user experience for our company. They will design and implement research strategies, including research to improve the quality and end-user experience for AI powered digital assistant including for a diverse set of people, potentially including those with disabilities. Their work will involve collecting, synthesizing, and reporting summaries from quantitative and qualitative data, conducting competitive analysis, and identifying user experience opportunities.

Responsibilities: 

  • Research Planning and Execution: Design and execute research to identify and evaluate opportunities for our AI powered digital assistant compared with key competitors
  • Generative and Evaluative Research: Conduct qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research to generate insights for our products and AI powered digital assistant.
  • Data Analysis and Synthesis: Analyze and synthesize diverse data sources, prioritize findings, and clearly summarize project work.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with multiple research partners, study recruitment vendors/panel management, and research ops to move projects forward.
  • Hands-on Research Execution: study design, execute interviews, survey creation, analysis, etc.
  • Rapid Insight Generation: Execute research and compile insights quickly to maximize impact.
  • Rapid Output Generation: Creating assets such as videos, presentations, and documents to summarizing the insights.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Years of Experience Required: 10+ overall years of experience in the field.
  • Degrees or certifications required: A relevant degree or significant on-the-job experience is expected

Required Qualifications: 

  • An advanced degree in Engineering, Social Science, or other data or research-centric field.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing mixed-methods UX research, including observing, understanding, and synthesizing human behavior into insights, to drive customer-focused product development.
  • Exceptional project management, organizing, and planning skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and influence data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in qualitative research methods, insight synthesis, and generating insightful reports/outputs.
  • A passion for translating ideas, needs, and requests into rigorous and valid research questions.
  • A passion for the hands-on process of conducting research with customers and end-users and then creating succinct research reports and summaries

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or related fields.
  • Experience conducting user research on AI, particularly generative AI (LLMs)
  • Experience incorporating accessibility and DEI concerns in research from recruiting through analysis
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and research involving accessibility and/or DEI (diversity, equity, & inclusion) is desirable.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years experience with UX benchmark type research.
  • Minimum 8+ years experience with project management, organizing, and planning are critical
  • Minimum 8+ years experience with qualitative research experience is necessary, in addition to quantitative skills, for a balanced approach to research.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $75.35 to $83.73 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
