Our large e-commerce client is seeking a UX Designer to join their team through the end of the year. In this Consultant role, you will create intuitive and engaging experiences that optimize customer centricity when designing ‘best-in-class’ digital experiences, adding value to customers across multiple e-commerce brands. You will use Design Thinking and UX Principles to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of Product Owners, Development Leads to understand user needs, apply user research, and translate findings into wireframes, prototypes, and user interface designs for eCommerce, Mobile Apps and Kiosks for in-store and out-of-store digital experiences.
What You Will Do
- Be highly focused on solving user problems and making user experiences seamless, intuitive, and enjoyable. This is done by connecting UX experiences across the practice and delivering cohesive web, mobile, and kiosk experiences.
- Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Iterate designs based on feedback, user testing, and data analysis testing natively every step of the process.
- Focus heavily on understanding user needs, behaviors, and pain points while balancing business requirements. Use this understanding to inform design decisions.
- Apply design thinking and UX principles to create user-centered designs
- Represent the UX team, share updates, and gain support from partnering departments within the company (eComm Merch, product, development, quality assurance, etc.).
- Work and collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Engineering leads to solve feature definitions and understand technical constraints and accessibility. This is done by leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to help drive informed decision-making.
What You Will Bring:
- 5+ years experience with 3+ years experience creating exceptional digital experiences at either a digital agency or eCommerce company.
- Experience collaborating with eComm Merchandisers, UX & UI Designers, Researchers, and Copywriters, building ‘best-in-class’ digital experiences.
- Must be self-motivated and driven to deliver quality, focus & vision as they deliver customer-centricity across the eComm team.
- Expert working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, Mural, and Creative Suite with strong interpersonal skills specific to verbal and oral communication and collaboration.
- Experienced with the theory and application of Mobile-first, Lean UX, and responsive design principles with deep knowledge of interaction design patterns, accessibility design requirements, and UX best practices
- Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, with a passion for the challenges around ideating and organizing content and functionality
- Experienced in working with Design Systems
- Stays up-to-date with the latest UX and visual design trends, techniques, and technologies
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A portfolio showcasing previous UX design projects that demonstrates tactical experience with user-centered design patterns is required.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative, agile, and flexible environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent work experience
