Our large financial services client is seeking a Product Designer to join their Digital Design team. In this consultant position, you will work on new customer experiences that enable people to open new accounts online.  In this role, you’ll work in an agile and iterative environment with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and communicate your design vision. From idea generation to implementation, you’ll be an expert problem solver, communicator, and facilitator.

What Will You Do

  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional squad of designers, a product owner, and developers
  • Work with a team to deliver exceptional features for clients and advisors – you will see features through from discovery to release
  • Partner with other designers and product and technology peers to apply systematic thinking to your designs

Interaction Design Strategy

  • Identify user interface patterns and behaviors and use them to improve task performance and user comprehension
  • Use visualizations and interactions to support analytical thinking with large data sets
  • Facilitate design critique, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities

Interaction Artifact Creation

  • Use a comprehensive understanding of interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to inform design decisions
  • Design artifacts of high complexity to communicate task flows, touchpoints, behaviors, and the exchange of information
  • Create complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate ideas.
  • Create complex prototypes to provide delivery specifications for development

Research and Testing

  • Facilitate usability testing
  • Participate in or initiate research activities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms
  • Strong porffolio that showcases both web and mobile projects with details on process, design thinking, collaboration, research and evaluation of solutions provided
  • Product Mindset – Keen understanding of product goals and technology constraints when making design decisions (i.e., Consider how business objectives are met through your design decisions)
  • Proven track record of thriving in Agile environments, working closely with product owners and developers where speed and efficiency are key to success.
  • Comfort ‘working in the abstract’ before moving into screen designs, ie. Deep experience in UX architecture concepts like establishing frameworks, creating flow diagrams, and defining interaction models.
  • Proficiency in Figma
  • Collaboration: The ability and openness to collaborate with designers and partners in product and technology.
  • Strong communication and influence skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

  • Experience using data/analytics to make and iterate on design decisions
  • Understanding of front-end development and its constraints
  • Experience building platforms or reusable components
  • Experience working within a large organization 
  • Empathy for product and technology partners
  • Ability to influence and help shape design direction that considers products as a whole
  • Consideration for reuse and consistency in the design work
