We are seeking a UX (Interaction) Designer for our large client to join their Digital team. In this Consultant role, you will shape the experiences they create through each digital product.

You will lead complex projects, delivering both interaction design and visual artifacts (web and mobile native) that are aligned with the design system and that focus on client-first experiences and conducive are to business objectives.

You’ll work within an agile environment and an iterative process, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders to analyze, design and convey your design vision. A natural problem solver, communicator and facilitator, you’ll be involved in every step of the process from idea generation to implementation.

What you would work on

 Interaction Design Strategy

  • Improve task performance and drive user comprehension by understanding user interface patterns and behaviors
  • Use visualizations and interactions to make big data, analysis easier
  • Facilitate design critiques and ideation sessions, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams and collaborative work projects
  • Act as the interaction design expert for the product design team

Interaction Artifact Creation

  • Understand interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to make design decisions
  • Create complex artifacts that communicate task flows, touchpoints, and behaviors and information exchange
  • Create complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate ideas.
  • Create complex prototypes to provide delivery specifications for development
  • Present interaction design work to more senior stakeholders

Research and Testing

  • Facilitate usability testing
  • Initiate or participate in research
  • Research interaction design strategies in the financial services sector and perform competitive audits for specific design or business goals.
  • Perform pattern, micro-interaction and component design audits where appropriate 

 

What will you bring:

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms5+ years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms
  • Expertise and depth of knowledge in Interaction Design theory/tools
  • Experience designing and launching digital products
  • Ability to perform end-to-end usability testing
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and in agile environments within large organizations
  • Storytelling expertise to inform and influence decisions by presenting sound experience design recommendations.
  • Financial Industry and Self-Directed Brokerage experience
  • Mobile-first design & Mobile native design
  • Expertise with design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, UserTesting.com 
  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with various UX research methods
  • Systems Thinking
  • MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field
