Overview

We are currently partnering with a prominent client in search of a talented individual to join their development team as a Design Technologist. This role focuses on crafting tools for designers and establishing a robust design system that streamlines component creation for developers. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in front-end development, as they will collaborate closely with the development team to enhance the user experience through innovative interface design.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development team to design tools for designers and establish a comprehensive design system.
• Utilize front-end development experience to interface with developers and contribute to coding efforts at the system level, implementing enhancements as needed.
• Scale existing design systems to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
• Act as a bridge between experience design and software development, creating user interfaces that prioritize usability and customer satisfaction.
• Work on core design system architecture, design token frameworks, and user interface guidelines across various platforms.
• Identify and create reusable, flexible, and accessible components to enhance user interface design.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to improve their understanding and mastery of design systems.
• Collaborate with partners to ensure a consistent and cohesive design experience across all digital products.
• Share insights and thought leadership within the design team and across the organization through presentations and other forms of communication.
• Facilitate design critiques and provide expert advice to cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in designing and developing usable interfaces across multiple platforms.
• Proficiency in CSS, HTML
• Strong expertise with design tools such as Figma.
• Experience in web and/or mobile development.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy and rationale, highlighting benefits and risks associated with design decisions.
• Experience working within a large organization and agile environment.
• Design experience with mobile native platforms (Android and iOS).
