We are seeking a Software Engineer for our Global retail client for a 6-month onsite engagement in Beaverton, OR.  We are looking for a visionary who can drive efficiency and maximize business value within a multi-cloud environment. This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of cloud financial operations, developing products and services that empower a large internal customer base with critical cost visibility and optimization strategies. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cloud spending, directly influencing the organization’s technological and financial success.
As a key member of a focused development squad, you will be instrumental in enhancing our client’s understanding of cloud costs and driving significant optimization efforts. Your work will directly contribute to developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-wide multi-cloud cost, usage, and metrics reporting products. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend technical expertise with strategic business impact, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to deliver maximum value.

Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain product features for internal cloud reporting solutions.
* Create robust backend automations to process and transform large volumes of cloud billing data across diverse cloud platforms.
* Deliver usable reports and dashboards through API and UI interfaces.
* Actively partner with internal cloud governance teams and financial operations colleagues to prioritize backlogs and ensure the delivery of high-quality insights.
* Automate processes and update code to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
* Participate in team and product planning sessions, contributing ideas for products and services.
* Groom and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Must-Have Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an IT-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
* Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
* Intermediate skills in JavaScript front-end web frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
* Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms for efficiently managing large datasets.
* Experience using serverless data warehouses (e.g., Athena) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
* Demonstrable experience creating, delivering, and documenting GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
* Cloud infrastructure development experience with major public cloud providers.
* Practical understanding of infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), continuous integration & deployment (CI/CD), source control systems (e.g., GitHub), and build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins).
* Knowledge of Agile principles and Sprint Planning, including planning/backlog tools (e.g., JIRA).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

* Ability to create elegant user experiences.
* Practical experience in cloud cost optimization techniques and best practices.
* Knowledge of cloud provider billing practices.
* A basic understanding of financial operations (FinOps) practices.
* Experience with big room planning processes.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $61 to $68HR. Compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location
