This is a hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC (onsite Tue, Wed, Thur). It will start as a 6 month engagement but could extend.

As a Quality Assurance Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of gaming by ensuring exceptional quality and a seamless player experience. Be the driving force behind quality in game development. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will lead and mentor a team of QA professionals, driving testing efforts for exciting new titles. You’ll partner with production and development teams to define test strategies, ensure comprehensive test coverage, and champion quality throughout the development lifecycle. Your expertise in quality assurance will be essential to delivering an exceptional gaming experience to players worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of QA testers, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Collaborate with production and development teams to define and implement test strategies.
  • Design and execute test plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage of game features and functionality.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Analyze test results and provide clear, concise reports to stakeholders.
  • Advocate for quality throughout the development process, ensuring a seamless player experience.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.
  • Estimate test efforts and communicate resource requirements effectively.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in coordinating QA or development teams.
  • Experience across multiple development cycles, from pre-production to post-launch.
  • Strong background in writing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Experience in estimating test efforts and managing QA schedules.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • A passion for games and a commitment to delivering high-quality player experiences.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating large-scale multiplayer or campaign testing.
  • Deep understanding of online game communities and live game ecosystems.
  • Adaptable teaching skills and experience mentoring diverse team members.
  • Strong ability to translate design and feature briefs into robust test cases.
  • Proactive planning skills with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making and reporting.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $39 to $42 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
