Our Healthcare Client is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager (Hospital, Med/Surg Oncology) to oversee and support patient care delivery systems across multiple clinical locations. This role is responsible for implementing evidence-based care models, coordinating safe and efficient resource use, managing clinical operations, and fostering collaboration across interdisciplinary teams. The manager will maintain clinical expertise, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead operational improvements that enhance patient safety, quality, and team performance within a 24/7 healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and coach clinical teams; provide performance feedback, professional development, and succession planning.
- Promote collaboration across departments and create an environment that fosters teamwork, engagement, and accountability.
- Set clear goals and expectations, delegate responsibilities effectively, and provide support and resources to ensure success.
Operational Oversight
- Translate strategic business goals into actionable plans and workflows across units.
- Ensure staffing, equipment, supplies, and medications are used appropriately to support patient care needs.
- Monitor and manage performance metrics, budgets, and compliance to organizational policies and procedures.
Patient Care & Quality
- Maintain clinical expertise and serve as a resource for staff; provide clinical supervision as needed.
- Champion evidence-based practices and standardized care delivery across multiple departments.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff while meeting quality, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain compliance with legal, licensing, and accreditation requirements (e.g., state boards, quality standards, emergency preparedness).
- Lead continuous readiness initiatives, mock surveys, and quality audits.
- Oversee incident response, risk mitigation, and documentation processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, providers, and leadership to support care coordination and transitions across the continuum.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and recovery planning.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving care delivery, cost-efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Active RN license (state-specific)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 5 years of clinical patient care experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare operations, administration, or clinical leadership
- At least 4 years in a leadership role (with or without direct reports)
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
- Expertise in nursing practice standards and patient safety principles
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and healthcare quality frameworks
- Skilled in operational strategy, resource planning, and process improvement
- Proficient in conflict resolution, change management, and stakeholder communication
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare IT systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related business tools
This is a direct-hire role that requires you to be on-site in Clackamas, OR.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $171,000 – $198,000.
Compensation is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
