As a Standards Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining North American facility construction standards. Collaborate with external firms, lead reviews, and present your work to upper management. You will also analyze construction change requests, breakdown reports, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into revisions. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of the company’s facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with outside firms to develop and maintain construction standards and specifications
  • Lead workgroup draft reviews, gather feedback, and implement revisions
  • Present standards and specifications to upper management for review and approval
  • Create and manage an annual schedule, track progress, and provide monthly status reports
  • Review construction change requests, major breakdown reports, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into revisions
  • Provide support for study requests related to renewals and utilities

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with standards and specifications in the construction industry (e.g., AE firm, construction planning, standards development)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam (or other PDF editing software)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.)
