As a Taxonomist, you will be responsible for the health, accuracy, and scalability of our HR taxonomies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their information needs and design effective taxonomic solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our knowledge architecture and make a tangible impact on employee experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and implement HR taxonomies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Develop and expand attributed classification schemes to support content organization and retrieval.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content creators, engineers, subject matter experts) to understand information needs and design effective taxonomic solutions.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality control of metadata to ensure taxonomy health and content performance.
  • Advise on best practices for metadata creation, taxonomy use, and information architecture to improve content discoverability and user experience.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the knowledge architecture, ensuring it scales with the organization’s growth and changing information landscape.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with taxonomy governance
  • Experience with knowledge representation and organization systems (taxonomies, ontologies, and thesauri)
  • Experience with structured metadata for knowledge management or cataloging
  • Experience supporting complex taxonomies for information delivery
  • Experience communicating the importance of metadata for knowledge management and content delivery
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in information science, library science, information technology or a related field

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of taxonomy workflows
  • Knowledge of metadata property schemas
  • Knowledge of SKOS, RDF/s SPARQL and other semantic organization or information cataloging standards
  • Interest in or knowledge of ontologies and knowledge graphs
  • Experience with benefits, compensation, health care, payroll, and related HR topics
  • Experience working with international partners across different time zones and cultures
  • Experience in a fast-paced, Big Tech environment

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $61.22 to $68.03 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
