As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for selecting and managing greenfield fiber optic projects, from initial feasibility assessment through to implementation. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage cutting-edge technology, and play a critical role in expanding network reach and capabilities. This is your chance to leave a lasting mark on the digital landscape.

This is a 6 months, remote contract with occasional visits at the local sites (Des Moines, Iowa). This role is open for a limited time. Responsibilities:

  • Select and submit greenfield projects, tracking progress through implementation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for outside plant (OSP) projects.
  • Complete required forms for exception requests and company assessments.
  • Ensure timely delivery of conduit to project sites.
  • Support the team in tracking joint trench performance.
  • Act as the point of contact for joint trench design companies, ensuring proper delivery of plans and as-built documentation.
  • Identify new greenfield opportunities using data analysis and market research.
  • Research existing fiber providers and their joint trench activities.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience managing construction projects for cable/fiber operators, specifically in a joint trench environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in network operations, network engineering, or network construction.
  • Experience with CAD, GIS systems, and FTTH records/as-builts.
  • Experience working with telecommunications providers, power companies, or cable providers.
  • Experience in SFU greenfield designs and builds.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience designing fiber networks and/or building to a designed fiber matrix.
  • Familiarity with common GIS applications.
  • Experience working directly with home builders and developers for joint trench participation.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Experience working with vendors and management.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $44.25 to $49.17 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
