As a key member of the Propulsion Systems OBD team, you will be instrumental in interpreting OBD regulations and translating them into actionable engineering requirements for software, controls, and calibration teams. Your work will ensure that vehicles meet global standards while pushing the boundaries of automotive technology. Collaborate with a dynamic, international team, and contribute to a company dedicated to delivering high-quality vehicles.
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop comprehensive methods for delivering OBD technical requirements to internal teams.
  • Mentor team members on delivering complete OBD requirements for modules and vehicles.
  • Create and maintain processes and templates for producing customer-approved OBD work products.
  • Facilitate communication between Propulsion Systems OBD (PSO) support teams and customers.
  • Ensure consistency between the activities of OBD Tech Fellows, TSRC, and PSO.
  • Deliver OBD requirements to customers on time.

Must-Haves:

  •  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Software, or Controls Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in OBD requirements, controls, software, or calibration.
  • Proficiency with INCA, Matlab, and Simulink/Stateflow.
  • Understanding of On-Board Diagnostics goals.
  • Functional understanding of controls, software, and CAN communication.
  • Basic understanding of the major components in an electrified propulsion system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Controls Engineering.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with government regulatory agencies.
  • Previous automotive propulsion systems experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing new diagnostics.
  • 12 years’ experience in OBD requirements, controls, software, or calibration within the electric, gasoline, or diesel industry.
  • Experience with INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++, and Visual Basic.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $39.20 to $43.56 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
