Partnering with Aquent, they seek a highly motivated and experienced Public Policy Manager to join their Legal & Compliance Operations team.
About Your Role:
As a Public Policy Manager, you will be the strategic owner of core operational workflows within the Legal & Compliance team. You will champion the adoption of automation and AI, empowering operational teams with scalable, self-serve tools. Your strategic thinking and program governance expertise will be essential in optimizing processes, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, legal, and compliance, to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the strategy for core legal and compliance workflows, integrating automation, AI, and process optimization to enhance maturity, efficiency, and risk management.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and AI across Legal & Compliance Operations by partnering with product, engineering, and business lines to build and deploy low-code/no-code automation solutions.
  • Empower operations teams to develop and manage self-serve workflows, minimizing manual effort and maximizing scalability.
  • Apply a product-centric approach to operational challenges, evaluating technology opportunities, including AI/ML, for process innovation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including program plans, roadmaps, and action item repositories.
  • Hold project owners accountable for timely execution, identify and mitigate risks, and escalate issues effectively.
  • Execute stand-alone projects of varying size and complexity to achieve program and team goals.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track ROI, and drive continuous improvement based on operational data and strategic goals.
  • Lead strategic planning cycles for operational programs, aligning roadmap milestones with company objectives and compliance obligations.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for operational readiness, program delivery, and cross-functional decision-making.
  • Negotiate and communicate operational trade-offs, balancing regulatory, technical, and resourcing considerations to make strategic decisions.
  • Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies across legal, product, compliance, and engineering teams.
  • Lead clear and concise communication with leadership and stakeholders, including business reviews, escalation management, and root cause analysis.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or equivalent program management experience, or educational degree in project management, business, marketing, technology finance, or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing automation and AI-driven initiatives to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Solid understanding of AI capabilities and their application in Operations.
  • Effective critical thinking and experience leveraging data to anticipate and unblock problems and drive solutions.
  • Familiarity with Legal, Public Policy, or Regulatory space (including operations, audit, control/safeguard management).
  • Proven time-management and organizational skills, ability to navigate ambiguity and work independently.
  • Experience working in a collaborative matrix environment with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Experience resolving conflicts, identifying trade-offs, and setting clear priorities.
  • Experience in controlling risk and setting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience creating executive-level presentations.

Compensation:
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $92.09 to $102.33 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
