Pay: $34-36 / hourly as W2, full benefits offered

Location: Hybrid in O’Fallon, MO

Length of assignment: Approved through end of 2025, likely extension into 2026

 

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $34-36 / hourly as a W2 employee.

 

Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in a 401k plan with company match.

This position supports the creation, delivery, and maintenance of technical documentation that supports our products and services.

Role:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Engineers, Testers, etc.) to create and update technical content

• Ensure the documentation aligns with the CS&D writing standards

• Manage the review lifecycle and address input and feedback received from internal business partners and external customers

• Provide excellent customer service to our business partners and customers

• Author in XML or Markdown for content creation and editing

• Use screen capture and graphic tools to add visuals to your document

• Publish technical content to multiple platforms and output types, such as PDF, HTML, and Wiki

What is the name of your group? How does that fit into the overall organization?

This position is on the core release authoring team of the Content Strategy and Development department. My team publishes core switching release announcements to provide detailed technical specifications that are included as part of a quarterly core switching release to external customers. Release announcements typically require customer coding and impact core switching systems. My team also processes the core reference guides and interchange bulletins.

 

What is your team’s main responsibility?

Publishing core switching release announcements to customers. We also process and publish interchange announcements and support updating the core reference guides.

 

How would you describe the culture of your team?

The team is a close, collaborative, group with an active team chat who works hard. We handle all the core release announcements which is a big undertaking. We’re very collaborative, very supportive.

 

A typical day involves:

  • Having kickoff calls with our business partners to get requirements.
  • Authoring content in DITA XML.
  • Distributing reviews of content to key stakeholders.
  • Implementing comments from the reviews in the xml files.
  • Obtaining approvals for publication of the content.
  • Staging and testing content on the Technical Resource Center staging site. This includes applying and confirming taxonomy and attachments.
  • Publishing the content to the Technical Resource Center production site on publication days for customers.
  • Administrative tasks to ensure proper project tracking.
  • Attending daily stand-ups with the team to discuss blockers and provide status updates.

* Familiarity with DITA xml/Oxygen XML editor/technical writing

Foundational to intermediate

 

Why would someone want to leave their current job for this one?

How we collaborate, support each other, and have fun. We handle all the core release announcements, externally so the three core platforms You know the message authorization to message clearing and single message system. We make changes and customers you know have to do things to their systems or coding changes or be aware.

 

Could you please describe how success will be measured during their contract?

Obviously their workload, are they being productive in terms of the announcements they publish? All of our writers should have minimal errors from the XML and minimal tickets. Feedback from our business partners as well.

 

Is there any criteria that would automatically disqualify a candidate?

We tend to get applicants with more of a marketing background, and that’s not what we prefer.
