Responsibilities:

  • Lead research initiatives, applying your expertise in behavioral science research methods and experimental design.
  • Conduct a variety of research methods, including usability studies, surveys, and user interviews.
  • Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with design and product teams to ensure research findings are integrated into product development.
  • Present research findings clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, influencing product strategy.
  • Research how users interact with AI agents and large language models to inform the design of intelligent user interfaces.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated success contributing to the design of successful digital products and services.
  • Proven experience with the full research cycle: from formulating research questions to presenting impactful findings.
  • MA/MS in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Economics, or a related field.
  • Portfolio showcasing past work and how your research informed decision-making, ideally in the digital products and services industry.
  • Experience with a range of research methods: qualitative and quantitative, attitudinal and behavioral, generative and evaluative.
  • Familiarity with ethnographic techniques, contextual inquiry, user insight generation, and related methodologies.
  • Experience designing and running original experimental research on digital products and services.
  • Basic understanding of quantitative data analysis and inferential statistics.Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

mazon’s Device Design Group, which is a large design organization. The team works on the operating system/software design for Amazon devices. Specifically, the hiring manager’s team supports on-screen experiences for Fire TV and tablet

Key Project:

Will primarily help with Fire TV projects, with possible overlap into tablet work

Main tasks include:

  • Running usability studies (planning to do 3 lab studies over 3 months)
  • Conducting surveys and interviews
  • Doing competitive analysis
  • Researching how people: Launch apps, Watch TV, Purchase shows, etc
  • Use Alexa/AI agents to find content
  • Will partner closely with design teams to ensure good user experience

Role involves understanding how users want to interact with AI agents and LLM technology in TV/tablet experiences

Emphasis on qualitative research (lab studies, user interviews) rather than quantitative analysis.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $89.00 to $98.89. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
