 Auto Transport Fleet Maintenance Manager
 100% On-site Brunswick, GA | Port-Based | Full-Time
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We’re looking for a highly skilled and strategic Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the performance, compliance, and reliability of a growing fleet of specialized car haulers. You’ll lead a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians to ensure our 250+ vehicles stay road-ready, safe, and in full compliance with DOT/FMCSA standards.

This is a leadership-level opportunity with direct impact on operations—and the chance to help shape the maintenance infrastructure as the company plans to triple in size over the next five years.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 3 Fleet Maintenance Supervisors with their direct reports

  • Lead and manage inspection, service, and repair operations for all tractors, trailers, and specialty car hauling equipment

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA and OEM standards

  • Track and report key fleet metrics: downtime, cost-per-mile, PM compliance, emergency events

  • Approve maintenance expenditures and evaluate vendor repair estimates

  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for inspections, repairs, and driver-reported defects

  • Oversee the CLC Lodging program and ensure proper vehicle availability for new hires

  • Respond to breakdowns and direct timely roadside recovery or support

  • Manage registration, decals, IFTA reporting, and fuel permitting processes

  • Serve as a key partner to Operations and HR to align equipment availability with driver schedules and hiring

 What You Bring

  • 5+ years of indirect fleet management experience, including 1–3 years in a supervisory role

  • Deep knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and preventive maintenance strategy

  • Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills

  • Familiarity with IFTA, IC contracts, vehicle registration, and fuel permits

  • Ability to track OEM specs and maintain warranty compliance

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • CDL or car hauler driving experience preferred

  • Must be eligible for a TWIC badge due to port access requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required

 About the Company

This opportunity is with a fast-growing transportation and logistics firm, recently launched as a subsidiary of a global automotive giant. The company focuses on dealer-to-dealer automotive delivery, servicing major OEMs like GM, Volvo, Rivian, and Lucid. With a current fleet of 250 trucks and ambitious growth targets, it’s an exciting time to get on board and shape the future of automotive transport logistics.

 Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary (based on experience)  $100K- $115K

  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for the employee

  • Unlimited Flex Time Off (FTO) — capped at 10 paid days per vacation stretch

  • 12 paid holidays

  • Bonus opportunity and advancement potential as the fleet grows

This is a rare opportunity to lead from the front in a fast-scaling environment with executive visibility and operational ownership. If you’re ready to take the wheel, we want to hear from you.
