POSITION TITLE: Safety & Risk Manager (automotive)
LOCATION: Duluth, GA (onsite full-time)
SALARY: $110K – $122K
SUMMARY: The Manager of Safety is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, promote a culture of safety, and mitigate risks associated with operations.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures to enhance workplace safety and minimize risks.

Collaborate with departmental leaders to ensure that safety protocols are effectively integrated into operational processes.

Conduct regular safety assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.

Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters, including training and awareness programs.

Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.

Analyze incident data and trends to identify recurring issues and implement preventive measures.

Maintain accurate records of incidents and corrective actions taken and provide regular reports to management.

Coordinate safety training sessions, workshops, and drills to ensure employees are adequately prepared to respond to emergencies and hazards.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.

Monitor and analyze safety data and metrics to track progress, identify areas of concern, and implement corrective actions.

Be the first point of contact for insurance and lead the annual renewals as well as GAP analysis.

Accurately manage the ELD system and ensure fair, equal safety coaching to all drivers.

Maintain safety inbox with ELD event recordings, provide training.

Required Experience:
-
5-8+ years of direct professional experience in safety management within the auto transport logistics industry.

3+ years of professional experience supervising
-
High School Diploma / G.E.D
-
Thorough understanding of federal and state regulations related to workplace safety, including OSHA and DOT requirements.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively engage and motivate teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful safety programs and initiatives.

Proficient in MS Office suite and safety management software.
Preferred Experience:
-
6 – 9+ years of direct professional experience in safety management and/or auto logistics
-
4 – 7+ years of professional experience supervising

Bachelor’s Degree
