Job Description: UX Designer, Consonant

We’re looking for a UX Designer on the Aquent Studios team to support Adobe’s Consonant Team. This UX Designer can look at the big picture from a user experience, product technology and business standpoint, and is unafraid to step outside the box to deliver compelling user experiences on web properties. The ideal designer brings strong experience creating design systems, most preferably in Figma, but experience in larger scale design systems such as Polaris will also be given strong consideration. This designer should also possess strong strategic, creative, and planning skills that enable them to effectively communicate, negotiate and drive design solutions to all company web experiences. 

What you’ll do:

• Drive design excellence and contribute to setting the standard for design at our company

• Collaborate with designers, content strategists, and researchers to optimize the system in Figma, including developing standard processes for building and using componentized patterns

• Support the UX/Web Design Teams and dev/engineering teams, across multiple CMS environments

• Work closely with product managers to ensure what we’re building is usable

• Help development teams engineer components by ensuring they are engineered according to design and interaction specifications

• Work with designers to maintain the system as well as create and update documentation

• Help establish design standards and principles for scalability, efficiency, and consistency

• Evaluate and improve usability and accessibility of components and be a champion for the user

• Improve the design to development handoff process

• Participate in our design community

What you need to succeed:

• 4+ years’ experience in product or Web UX design.

• Significant experience developing design systems in Figma. Experience working in other large scale design systems like Polaris given strong consideration

• Experience working with front-end development and/or engineering teams

• Strong design sensibilities with experience in UX design, web marketing design, and visual design

• A consistent track record and portfolio of solid experience design and strategy that meet user needs, website requirements, and business goals

• Strong experience design skills using diverse thinking, from the basics to strategic design thinking

• Expert skills in design products such as Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma

• Deep knowledge of UX/UI patterns and principles

• Experience designing web experiences for SaaS products

• Drive and passion for improving user experience and usability of complex problems

• Flexibility to accept and design against feedback from colleagues in a rapid iterative design process

• Experience creating innovative and accessible digital interface design solutions for responsive websites

• Comfort in designing and running user testing and other qualitative customer validation

• Strong interpersonal, written and presentation communication skills

Portfolio with work samples must be included.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50 to $55/hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
