As a Senior Color Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development of innovative color palettes for apparel, collaborating with a team of passionate designers and engineers. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality color standards are met, influencing the visual appeal of products seen worldwide.
As a Senior Color Developer, you will be a key part of the Global Apparel Materials team, partnering with Color Design, Design, Product Managers, Technical Development, Global Product Creation Centers, and Product Risk Engineering. You will drive the seasonal color direction, ensuring on-time approvals for commercialization. Your technical expertise will be essential in mentoring teammates, onboarding new hires, and implementing best practices. You’ll also contribute to the development of new processes for digital color review, researching innovations and leading projects to establish cutting-edge techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Execute seasonal color direction and ensure on-time approvals for commercialization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Mentor teammates, onboard new hires, and share best practices.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Contribute to the establishment of new processes for digital color review.
- Research and lead projects to implement innovative digital color processes.
- Approve lab dips on time for commercialization while maintaining color quality.
- Guide vendors on color achievability concerns.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of color, textile, or product development experience (or an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
- Expertise in dye methods and colorfastness risks.
- Strong understanding of digital color review and ability to communicate color specifications using digital data.
- Knowledge of textile and yarn construction, fiber dyeing characteristics, and fabric finishing.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving and information-seeking skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Ability to build a strategic plan and execute to completion.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to pass the Munsell Hue Test for visual color acuity.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $36.60 to $40.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
