Our leading entertainment client is seeking a Motion Designer/Video Editor to join it’s team in NYC on a hybrid basis!
As a member of our client’s Marketing Design team, you will be responsible for animating motion designs and editing content for paid media and digital creative assets. You will work on a highly collaborative team, and be expected to work on multiple projects at a time. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to all stages of creative development, from research and storyboarding to animation/production and final delivery
- Collaborate with the Art & Creative Directors, Producer and Design Director to meet creative and production goals
- Understand best practices for short-form content on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, YouTube, and Twitter
- Collaborate with Writers, Producers, Editors, and the Production team to develop on-brand strategic solutions
- Maintain the highest creative, conceptual, and production standards, while constantly ensuring brand integrity and consistency
- Stay current and up-to-date with current design trends, techniques, and processes
- Understand efficient workflows and work from (and expand on) existing templates within brand guidelines
- Prioritize work and be able to balance multiple projects with competing timelines
- Mid-level Video Editor with understanding of animation
- Able to “remix” broadcast and online videos into creative short-form social videos
- Post-Production: Sound mixing experience needed
- Video editing: trailers, commercials, cinematics, b-roll, sizzle reels, etc.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience in motion design/animation & video editing in-house or at an agency
- Strong portfolio with relevant examples of previous client work along with a solid reel with a strong sense of editorial, sound design, design, animation, typography, and style frames
- Demonstrate well executed: video edit and sound design and designs in motion for social platforms
- Competency in After Effects and a basic understanding of a diverse range of motion design software, plugins, techniques, and approach
- Competency in Adobe Premiere with creative storytelling ability, problem-solving skills and good follow-through
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Collaborative spirit and the desire for constant improvement
- Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, constantly evolving environment while remaining organized and detail-oriented
- Must be self-motivated and able to keep several initiatives moving forward simultaneously
- Master at storytelling in short form format and creating sizzle reels with multiple sources
- Creating scratch track and sound mixing
- Edit with an organized workflow
- High awareness of online and offline resources for finding stock footage
- Strong knowledge of creative resources in the US in commercials and feature films is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Design, Fine Art, Advertising, or relevant field

- BA/BFA in advertising, fine art design or relevant field
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $62.33 to $69.26 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
