Our major Healthcare client is looking for an experienced Lead Experience Strategist to join a dynamic team, working at the intersection of data science, product innovation, and the supply chain space. This role will be responsible for shaping and leading the experience strategy, design, and research across a group of data-heavy products, including new initiatives, MVPs, and proof-of-concepts (POCs). As the key design leader, you will collaborate with product teams, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to align the product experience with business goals, while driving the adoption of a unified design system and maintaining consistency with global standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader with strong design expertise, a deep understanding of data-driven products, and the ability to navigate complex, high-ambiguity environments. You will play a key role in delivering measurable impact through innovative experiences that enhance supply chain operations in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience Strategy & Design Leadership: Lead the experience strategy across a portfolio of products, from new initiatives and POCs to established products. Drive the creation of key deliverables, including blueprints, journey maps, prototypes, and strategic roadmaps.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Data Science teams, product teams, and leadership to define and refine user-centered design strategies. Guide and provide leadership for internal product designers, ensuring alignment with both user needs and business goals.
- Research & Prototyping: Conduct user research, including rapid prototyping and initial concept exploration. Use insights from research to shape product strategy, validate concepts, and drive iterations.
- Design System Evolution: Align the internal design system (created for data-heavy applications) with the global design system standards. Maintain and evolve the design system to meet the diverse needs of users while supporting long-term product vision.
- Measurement & Evaluation: Develop and implement strategies for measuring user experience and product performance. Lead the team in tracking key experience metrics and making data-driven decisions to enhance product usability and effectiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to drive the design and implementation of strategic initiatives. Collaborate on building network decision support tools, reporting tools, and control towers in the supply chain domain.
- Storytelling & Communication: Communicate complex design concepts, research findings, and strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Use storytelling to help the business understand the value of design in driving product success.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead by example in executing design processes and methodologies. Provide mentorship to junior designers and ensure that the design team operates efficiently and effectively to meet product goals.
- Strategic Lab Support: Play an active role in planning and executing strategic lab tasks, which may involve exploring new technologies like AI and machine learning to enhance the product experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in UX design, experience strategy, or product design, ideally with a background in data-heavy or analytics-driven products.
- Proven track record in leading design across complex products, preferably in industries like pharma, supply chain, or technology.
- Design Expertise:
- Strong visual design skills, with a solid understanding of design systems, UI/UX best practices, and data visualization.
- Proficiency in Figma, specifically variables.
- Leadership Skills:
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, including designers, researchers, and developers.
- Ability to provide strategic direction and mentorship to product designers.
- Research & Methodology:
- Solid experience in leading user research, rapid prototyping, and validating design concepts through user testing and data analysis.
- Complex Problem Solving:
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and tackling complex, data-heavy environments.
- Ability to translate complex data and context into actionable design solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Storytelling & Communication:
- Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to share design concepts and strategy in a clear and impactful manner, especially to business stakeholders.
- Supply Chain/Pharma Experience (Preferred):
- Experience working within the supply chain domain, particularly with control tower solutions or visibility and performance management tools, is a plus.
- Tech Savvy:
- Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and creative tech tools is a plus.
