In this exciting role, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical building systems, ensuring they operate at peak performance. You will be involved in every stage, from reviewing design drawings and specifications to coordinating installations and commissioning. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Facilitate electrical and mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities.
- Provide expert review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings, and specifications, as well as contractor-generated RFIs.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations, including Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Hazardous Energy, and arc flash safety.
- Apply your knowledge of building codes and industry standards (including but not limited to: IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).
- Collaborate with building construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users.
- Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, and manufacturing shops.
- Conduct regular work progress inspections and support construction administration activities.
- Oversee mechanical contractors’ work to ensure adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestones, and coordination with other groups.
- Prepare field engineering status reports on work progress and schedule for Project Managers.
- Contribute to the improvement of project technical specifications and standards.
- Communicate technical matters effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Multi-task, manage time, and prioritize project commitments based on deadlines and milestones.
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Equivalent Experience
- Extensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations
- Possess extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $52.95 to $58.83 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
