Technical Writer

Overview

The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Key Projects:

• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication

Candidate Requirements:

• Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or english, journalism, communications is preferred
• Experience with working in large industries such as META, GOOGLE, APPLE
• CROSS TEAM COLLABRATION
• DETAIL ORIENTED
• PROACTIVE/ PROBLEM SOLVING
• Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Ability to read some programming code
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

1. Minimum 5+ years experience with Strong Writing & Communication Skills (( Ability to write clear, concise, and structured documentation// Tailoring content for different audiences “developers, end users, executives” // Excellent grammar, tone, and readability ))
2. Minimum 5+ years experience with Technical Proficiency & Understanding (( Familiarity with developer tools, SDKs, and cloud platforms //Knowledge of technical concepts like security, networking, or DevOps ” depending on the domain” ))
3. Minimum 5+ years experience with information Design & Documentation Tools (( Markdown, DITA, Confluence, or Wiki platforms // Proficiency in Git, API documentation tools “Swagger, Postman”, and CMS // Strong skills in structuring content for usability and discoverability ))

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $43.13 to $47.93 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
