SDET- Software Developer Engineer – Senior

*A background check, including fingerprinting, must be completed/cleared prior to starting this assignment.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week worked onsite at our client’s Lone Tree, CO location.

Data Platform team is seeking a senior Java Developer to assist the ITEM Retirement project. ITEM is our client’s legacy mainframe Security Master application charged with maintaining securities information for numerous financial products and providing that information for consumption by downstream enterprise applications. The project will be to research current mainframe processes and consumption patterns and design alternative storage and processing functions in the modernized distributed security master platform.

• Will interpret written requirements and technical specifications for software solutions to business problems.

• Will develop software based on the technical specifications.

• Will analyze and investigate problems with software solutions that have been reported by clients and document the results of their investigation(s).

• Will perform maintenance of software and correct defects that have been identified during the maintenance process.

• Will run unit tests on software they create, implement test plans, test harnesses and document the test results.

• Will investigate and suggest solutions to defects and problems with software solutions that have been detected during testing.

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.Develop , execute and maintain automation tests cases and test scenarios – for high volume, low latency web and desktop applicationsDesign test automation framework for web services, APIs, and web-based applications

• Ensure automation is constantly running, analyzing, documenting and promptly reporting on failures

• Design data persistence using SQL, mongo or any of the database management systemDrive a continuous improvement mentality to deliver robust performance testing strategies and methodsMentor peers and junior SDETs, and create a culture of following automation best practices and standards by code reviews.

Experience:

• Experience with Agile/Lean development and testing practices, including Automated Test Driven Development, Test Driven Development , Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

• Experience with web service virtualization, data virtualization and test data management

• Hands on Experience with browser automation testing tools (Sauce Labs, Selenium, Protractor, CodedUI etc.)

• Hands on experience with SQL Server or document oriented databases (MongoDB)

• Advanced hands-on software development experience and experience with leading automation framework development (6-10 years)

• Hands on Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet, etc.)

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate as a scrum team member, to review and estimate work required to complete stories.

• Work with business partners to understand and refine business requirements.

• Research, design and develop solutions based on business requirements.

• Work with upstream and downstream development partners to articulate business requirements and assist in integration testing.

• Code and test application changes on the various applications.

• Deploy application changes into various non-production environments.

• Support testing efforts by troubleshooting issues and providing solutions. Required Skills:

• Experience with Agile/Scrum process and Atlassian product suite.

• Working knowledge supporting BitBucket and GitHub version control platforms and CI/CD tools namely Bamboo, Veracode.

• Experience with Java, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or relational database.

• Strong desire and ability to learn new technologies/patterns and adopt latest design patterns/ideas.

• Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills.

• Ability to work closely and collaboratively with developers, Architects, and other technology teams.

Preferred:

Experience working on financial applications and securities

Experience with Golden Source enterprise data management application

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $56.39 to $62.66 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
