Our well known financial services client is looking to bring on a hybrid, contract (w2) Copy Editor to support their team:

  • This is a hybrid role working 3 days onsite in Los Angeles per week and 2 days working remotely.

  • A background check must be completed/cleared prior to starting this assignment.

  • This is a 6 month assignment with likely extension beyond that.

 

Copy Editor

 

The copy editor, an integral part of the marketing team, ensures the production of high-quality marketing materials through meticulous review. Collaborating with internal teams, the copy editor manages projects, schedules tasks, and guarantees timely completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Copyedits and proofreads print and electronic materials, ensuring clarity, grammatical accuracy, consistency, appropriate style and tone, and adherence to disclosure requirements.

  • Verifies statistics and facts using internal and external sources.

  • Recommends copyedits based on target audience and internal/external style guides.

  • Updates and identifies changes to quarterly/annually updated information, including statistical data and investment/risk disclosures.

  • Utilizes tools to ensure accurate updates on web/digital pages.

  • Copyedits and abridges content to meet sizing requirements.

  • Monitors, tracks, and incorporates compliance language updates to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Determines the impact of compliance language changes on existing materials.

  • Understands and applies required disclosure language across all collateral and channels.

  • Monitors and stays informed of copyediting tools and resources, including style guides, and incorporates changes to maintain consistency in tone and style.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of copyediting experience; financial, pharmaceutical, or medical experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Impeccable written and verbal communication, grammar, and syntax skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and style guides (Chicago and AP).

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across diverse groups.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to follow production schedules, track deliverables, solve problems, and escalate issues.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, process-oriented, organized, and multitasks effectively.

  • Ability to manage an unpredictable workload and meet deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of financial and investment concepts.

  • Sound judgment in resolving moderately complex issues.

 

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $32.32 – $34.48/hr.

Compensation is based on several factors, including education, relevant work experience, certifications, and location.

 

Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match.
