As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, production releases, and on-call support of React.js-based UI frameworks and backend systems for our client’s applications.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop UI components using React.js and frontend technologies with a focus on scalability, latency, and resiliency.
- Participate in architecture and code reviews to ensure high-quality code.
- Engage in scrum ceremonies, including grooming, planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to the team’s service architecture, data architecture, DevOps, infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, and public cloud services.
- Adhere to enterprise architecture and coding standards.
- Create, enhance, and integrate APIs using React.js and Java.
- Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure operational excellence.
- Take responsibility for development and operational aspects of Chewy’s systems.
- Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
- Debug production issues in Chewy’s services and tech stack.
- Be a hands-on engineer, spending most of your time writing code and debugging complex issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in front-end technology.
- 3+ years of software development experience in React.js framework.
- 1+ years of software development in Java/Spring Boot stack.
- Experience in professional software engineering practices throughout the full software development lifecycle, including:
- Designing, developing, conducting code reviews
- Managing source control, overseeing build processes
- Testing, deployment, and operations
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including:
- Object-oriented design
- Data structures
- Algorithm design
- Problem-solving & complexity analysis
- Analytical abilities, design skills, and working knowledge of design patterns.
- Experience in designing, building, and deploying features.
- Ability to learn domain knowledge in e-commerce.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $59 to $66 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
