Our client is seeking a Lead Writer to join their Storytelling & Publishing Team. In this role, you will be responsible for uncovering and crafting compelling stories that highlight the company’s innovative spirit and commitment to serving athletes worldwide. You will dig deep into the company’s culture by conducting interviews with employees, executives, and partners, uncovering the behind-the-scenes details that make their communications unique, engaging, and memorable.

The Lead Writer will focus primarily on producing content for their about website, particularly in the Stories section, which serves as the editorial heart of the site. The role will also include creating employer-brand content for their LinkedIn page and contributing to the development of larger editorial initiatives for the broader team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and report on the company’s innovations, people, and culture by interviewing key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write compelling, sharp, and platform-appropriate content for the Stories section of the website.
  • Develop employer-brand content for LinkedIn handle to promote the company’s culture and values.
  • Collaborate with the broader Storytelling & Publishing team to develop and pitch editorial ideas that align with overall communications strategy.
  • Ensure all content is fresh, engaging, and aligns with our brand’s voice, while also being suitable for various digital platforms.
  • Stay up to date with trends in sports, culture, and storytelling, and apply them to your writing.
  • Optional: Contribute to content production, including photo, video, and audio editing (preferred but not required).

Qualifications:

  • A background in journalism or editorial writing, with experience in reporting, storytelling, and content creation.
  • Passion for sports, with a deep understanding of the world of athletics, culture, and innovation.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to craft content that is engaging, clear, and platform-appropriate.
  • Experience with digital platforms and understanding of how content performs across different channels (web, social media, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $42 – $45 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
