Our product allows users to collaborate with generative AI to enhance productivity and spark creativity. The team is composed of dedicated and talented UI designers, researchers, writers, content designers, and PgMs, all passionate about creating the best possible experience for our users. We operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, working closely with teams across Assistant, Research, Search, Trust & Safety, and Responsible AI.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and scope research opportunities with cross-functional partners throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Design and conduct a mix of tactical and strategic research across all stages of product development.
  • Drive research that enhances user experience and informs the product roadmap. Lead all aspects of the research process, from planning to execution and communication of results.
  • Clearly communicate the research agenda with cross-functional teams, balancing business requirements and technical constraints with user needs.
  • Drive impactful change through research, making findings compelling and actionable for both research experts and non-experts.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

  • Plan UXR studies by collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Execute research studies.
  • Communicate findings through presentations and reports.

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an applied research setting.
  • Proven ability to command research questions within a specific domain, along with technical tools for data analysis in that field.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and limitations of various research methods and when to apply them during the product development process.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills with peers (e.g., UXD leads, UXW, engineers, and product managers).

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an applied research setting.
  • High flexibility and willingness to act quickly when needed.
  • Research experience in any of the following areas: voice-based digital assistants, mobile devices, or generative AI.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $96.39 to $107.10 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
