You will contribute to critical patient services by managing the initial stages of patient interaction, ensuring compliance with essential regulations, and providing a welcoming and efficient experience. Your ability to accurately gather and process vital information will be paramount to the patient’s care journey and the organization’s operational integrity.
**Here’s how you’ll make an impact:**
* Complete patient admission and registration processes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
* Obtain and accurately document required deductibles, co-payments, and deposits.
* Secure necessary patient signatures on all legal and administrative documents.
* Safeguard patient valuables following departmental guidelines.
* Perform timely scanning of all related documentation into the electronic system before the end of your shift.
* Utilize various online systems to obtain and verify insurance and patient demographic information.
* Prioritize tasks effectively during high-volume periods to maintain quality registrations, enhance customer service, and support operational efficiency.
* Foster strong cooperative relationships with both administrative and clinical staff, providing necessary documents and supplies promptly.
* Process updates and notifications from clinical teams in a timely manner.
* Collaborate effectively within a team environment, offering and seeking assistance as needed, and consistently producing high-quality work with minimal supervision.
* Deliver sensitive, timely, and appropriate customer service for all patient activities, including obtaining authorization for patient visitors from clinical staff.
* Distribute Notice of Privacy Practices in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
* Maintain a professional, solution-oriented, and sensitive demeanor in all interactions.
* Actively participate in department staff meetings, workshops, and in-services to foster continuous learning and collaboration.
* Cultivate collaborative working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
* Channel stress into positive energy to complete tasks efficiently and contribute to a positive work environment.
* Ensure office equipment is in working order and be proficient in downtime procedures and workaround solutions.
* Perform additional duties as assigned to support the patient services team.
**What you’ll bring:**
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* High school diploma.
* Typing speed of 30 words per minute.
* Proficiency in using multiple computer programs simultaneously.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong customer service orientation.
* Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
* Ability to work comfortably at both stationary and mobile workstations, requiring periods of sitting and standing.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff in a highly sensitive and fast-paced environment.
* Flexible availability to accommodate training and work schedule requirements.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* An Associate’s (AA) degree.
* Proficiency in a second language.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $45.80 to $50.89 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
