Our tech client is seeking a freelance Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) expert with both design and implementation skills to modernize and align our e-commerce site with their primary marketing website
​Duration: Q1 FY26 – start ASAP. Estimated hours 10-15 hours a week until project is complete (est. 6-8 weeks).
The core goal of this project is brand consistency in voice, tone, and visual design, while also improving usability, discoverability, and overall user confidence. The site should match the look, feel, and UX patterns
This is a hands-on role requiring strong UI/UX judgment and the ability to execute changes directly within Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Page Designer, templates, components).
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing design elements and changes within Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Strong UI/UX portfolio, ideally including e-commerce projects.
- Deep understanding of brand systems and design consistency across platforms.
- Experience modernizing legacy or underperforming e-commerce experiences.
- Ability to work independently and communicate design rationale clearly.
- Familiarity with accessibility and usability best practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with B2B or training/course-based e-commerce.
- Familiarity with enterprise or compliance-driven brands.
- Experience collaborating with marketing and web teams.
Key Responsibilities
The freelancer will be responsible for design strategy, UI/UX improvements, and implementation within Salesforce Commerce Cloud. The freelancer will design and implement UI/UX improvements directly in Salesforce Commerce Cloud, as well as deliver scalable, SFCC-native solutions (avoid unnecessary custom work).
Brand & Visual Design
- Align brand guidelines on SMB product pages (colors, typography, spacing, iconography, imagery).
- Ensure visual and experiential consistency between the e-commerce site and main site
- Establish reusable design patterns and components within SFCC.
UX & Interaction Design
- Improve content hierarchy using clear headings, font sizing, and spacing.
- Redesign layouts to reduce cognitive overload and improve scannability.
- Optimize user journeys for browsing, discovery, and purchase confidence.
- Ensure consistent button styles, link behavior, and interaction patterns.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud Implementation
- Design within SFCC templates, Page Designer, and components.
- Configure SFCC components directly (as applicable).
- Design within SFCC-native or scalable solutions rather than custom-heavy approaches when possible.
Specific Tasks & Project Deliverables
1. Brand Consistency Audit
- Review SMB brand and UX standards.
- Identify gaps in typography, spacing, color usage, imagery, and component styles.
- Deliver a prioritized list of inconsistencies and recommendations. Implement business confirmed business changes.
2. Homepage & Core Template Redesign
- Redesign homepage layout to match SMB global site structure and tone.
- Update headers, hero sections, CTAs, and content blocks for clarity and visual alignment.
- Ensure typography and spacing match patterns.
3. Course Listings Page Redesign
- Design & implement a browseable course listing layout
- Reduce reliance on search by introducing:

- Filters
- Clear visual grouping of offerings

- Improve discoverability for users unfamiliar with course catalog.
4. FAQ Functionality Improvement
- Redesign & implement changes to FAQ interactions so:

Opening one question automatically closes others (accordion behavior).

- Improve readability and hierarchy within FAQ sections.
5. Navigation & Link Behavior
- Update internal links to open in the same tab for better UX continuity.
- Audit CTA placement and consistency across pages.
6. Content Structure & Readability Enhancements
- Reorganize page content into clearly defined sections.
- Standardize heading levels (H1–H4), body text sizes, and spacing.
- Improve readability for long-form and informational content.
7. Visual Trust & Social Proof Enhancements
- Design and implement scrolling customer logos or similar trust indicators.
- Ensure logo usage aligns with brand and accessibility standards.
