Our AI tech client is seeking a highly collaborative and experienced Visual Design Systems Specialist. This role will be pivotal in defining and executing the visual language of our products through a robust, scalable component library.
- Component Library Ownership: Focus on the visual design and execution of our component-level design system, including building, maintaining, and evolving a comprehensive component library.
- Visual Fidelity & Scale: Ensure all components adhere to high standards of visual design quality and are designed to scale effectively across all products and platforms within the company.
- Deep Collaboration & Iteration: Engage in highly collaborative, fast-paced iteration cycles with the team, including frequent back-and-forth work with the Design Lead and Cody Smith.
- Advocacy & Adoption (Plus): Contribute to the evangelism and adoption of the design system across the organization by developing documentation and guidelines (Experience in driving adoption is a strong bonus).
- Meeting & Time Zone Coverage: Due to the highly collaborative nature of this role, maintaining consistent meeting availability and time zone coverage with key team members is essential.
Requirements
- Strong Visual Design Expertise: A portfolio demonstrating exceptional skill in visual design, aesthetic sensibility, and attention to detail. This role emphasizes visual design over User Experience (UX).
- Collaboration and Communication: Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a small team environment, accepting and integrating feedback through frequent iteration.
- Component-Level Focus: Experience designing and detailing components intended for large-scale use.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to ensure meeting and work coverage required for close collaboration.
- Experience working on or contributing to an established design system.
- Prior success in driving the adoption, documentation, and evangelism of a design system among product teams.
