As a key member of our corporate tax practice, you will be instrumental in guiding businesses through complex income tax planning, compliance, and accounting challenges. What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage client engagements from inception to completion, encompassing planning, execution, direction, and project delivery within budget.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior team members, including senior associates, associates, and interns, providing performance assessments for engagement reviews.
- Identify and cultivate opportunities to expand service offerings with existing and prospective clients.
- Conduct thorough reviews of tax returns prepared by staff, offering recommendations to optimize accuracy and identify tax savings opportunities.
- Perform primary reviews of income tax provision engagements.
- Conduct in-depth research and provide consulting on various tax matters, leveraging advanced tax-related software for return preparation and processing.
- Respond effectively to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with clients, collaborating seamlessly with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and deliver tax services.
- Develop a deep understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives, applying this knowledge to enhance engagement outcomes.
- Actively participate in professional development and training sessions to continuously enhance your expertise.
- Uphold the highest degree of professional standards and ensure strict client confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of four to seven years of progressive experience in tax compliance and/or tax consulting.
- Active CPA or JD/active law license.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate income tax and strong income tax accounting skills.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills, with proficiency in US GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of broad-based statutory income tax compliance and consulting, including state and local income taxes, taxation of international activity, and transfer pricing.
- Exceptional client service, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven engagement management capabilities.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Active CPA or JD/active law license.
- Extensive experience in corporate compliance and income tax provision, including preparation, review, and audit support.
- Public accounting experience with a leading firm.
- Corporate tax experience supporting large, multi-state/national/global companies.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with tax provision software.
- Demonstrated career stability.
- Currently at a manager level with 1-2 years of experience.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is between $121,000 and $181,400. An annual bonus, depending on performance, is also available.
