About the Role:
As a Mobile Applications Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing robust and user-centric mobile applications. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining native applications, ensuring they are not only functional but also deliver an exceptional user experience. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, from design to product and QA, to bring innovative features to life. This role offers the chance to dive deep into mobile architecture, contribute to scalable codebases, and continuously explore new technologies to keep our applications modern and competitive.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain native mobile applications for Android platforms using Kotlin and Java.
- Implement clean architecture and design patterns (e.g., MVVM) to ensure maintainable and scalable codebases.
- Write automated UI tests as part of the CI/CD pipeline to ensure quality and stability.
- Manage mobile app builds and signing workflows, including provisioning profiles, certificates, entitlements, build configurations, and variants.
- Integrate third-party libraries and SDKs for analytics and other services.
- Consume and integrate APIs, handling authentication, errors, and performance optimizations like caching and retry logic.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, product, QA, and DevOps to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
- Integrate content from headless CMS platforms into dynamic mobile interfaces.
- Stay current with platform updates, tools, and industry best practices to ensure the app remains modern and competitive.
- Develop applications for mobile devices under the guidance of application engineers by leveraging Agile methodologies to design and implement new customer-facing features.
- Work with product management and UX teams to create fun, easy-to-use client applications which maximize the user experience.
- Adhere to standard mobile device security practices.
- Support the overall architecture of mobile technologies.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Four (4) years of experience programming Java/Kotlin for the Android platform.
- Two (2) years of experience developing automated tests.
- Three (3) years of experience working with native mobile app signing and build variants (e.g., Provisioning Profiles, Entitlements, Distribution Certificates, build configurations, and variants).
- Three (3) years of experience in the development and integration of third-party source code or libraries.
- Two (2) years of work experience with headless CMS platforms.
- Three (3) years of experience integrating API/services.
- Minimum one (1) year experience developing and/or implementing mobile applications.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with both Android and iOS development.
Compensation: The target hiring compensation range for this role is between $108k-$133k, plus up to 8% annual bonus and full benefits.
