About the Role
We are seeking a talented IT Applications Engineer to lead the development of native mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of creating intuitive, high-performance mobile experiences that directly serve and delight our client’s vast user base. You will leverage your deep technical knowledge and leadership skills to drive innovation, ensure robust quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring groundbreaking features to life. Your work will not only optimize existing applications but also set the architectural direction for future mobile technologies, making a tangible difference in the lives of many.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality native mobile applications for iOS and Android using Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, and Java.
- Implement clean architecture and design patterns, such as MVVM, to ensure scalable, maintainable, and robust codebases.
- Develop and integrate automated UI tests using Espresso (Android) and XCUITest (iOS) within the CI/CD pipeline to uphold quality and stability standards.
- Manage complex mobile app builds and signing workflows, including provisioning profiles, certificates, entitlements, build flavors, and schemes.
- Integrate diverse third-party libraries and SDKs, including analytics and location services, to enhance app functionality.
- Consume and integrate APIs effectively, managing authentication, error handling, and performance optimizations like caching and retry logic.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including design, product management, quality assurance, and DevOps, to deliver exceptional mobile experiences.
- Integrate dynamic content from headless CMS platforms into engaging mobile interfaces.
- Stay abreast of the latest platform updates, development tools, and industry best practices to ensure the application remains modern and competitive.
- Lead and influence the development of mobile applications, applying Agile methodologies to deliver customer-facing features.
- Partner with product management and user experience teams to create user-centric applications that maximize engagement.
- Contribute insights and influence the establishment of mobile device security practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, optimizing applications and guiding the overall architecture for mobile technologies.
- Lead and oversee business-specific projects, applying deep expertise, developing work plans, coordinating resources, and solving complex problems.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field, combined with six (6) years of experience in software development or a related field. (Equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working on projects involving the implementation of solutions development life cycles (SDLC).
- Minimum two (2) years in a technical leadership role, with or without direct reports.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience developing and/or implementing mobile applications.
- Four (4) years of experience programming Objective-C or Swift for iOS.
- Two (2) years of experience developing automated tests using XCUITest/Espresso.
- Three (3) years of experience working with native mobile app signing and build variants (e.g., Provisioning Profiles, Entitlements, Distribution Certificates, Xcode Scheme and Configuration, Android build types and flavors).
- Three (3) years of experience in the development and integration of third-party source code or libraries.
- Two (2) years of work experience with CMS platforms such as headless CMS.
- Three (3) years of experience integrating APIs/services.

Compensation: The target hiring compensation range for this role is $140k-$163k, plus up to 14% annual bonus and full benefits.
