The Project Manager, Packaging Operations will oversee the process of packaging development. This role requires close collaboration with Creative Design, Structural Packaging,
Sourcing, Merchandising, Product Design, and other teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives. The Project Manager operates within established
guidelines, escalates issues as needed, and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage structural and creative packaging projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with product timelines, seasonal launches, and PTM calendars.
- Lead category-specific projects with manageable risk and resources.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Creative Design, Structural Packaging, Sourcing, Merchandising, and Product Design teams.
- Support packaging development by coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Communicate project status, risks, and challenges clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Track progress using project management tools and maintain accurate project documentation, dashboards, and reports for leadership visibility.
- Collaborate with team members to share ideas, best practices, and lessons learned, fostering a high-performing, supportive team environment.
- Escalate project issues as needed to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
- Identify workflow improvements and process efficiencies to optimize packaging operations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of project management experience or related work experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Strong understanding of structural and creative packaging development processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and high volume.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Workfront) and process optimization techniques.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Bachelor’s degree in packaging, business operations, project management, or related field—or equivalent experience.
