We are looking for a Color Designer for a 6-month hybrid engagement in Playa Vista, CA. Your work will directly influence product appearance, communication, and overall brand aesthetic, playing a crucial role in the company’s market presence and consumer connection.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and finalize color designs, meticulously following through on every detail to ensure flawless product appearance.
- Collaborate extensively with design, marketing, and development teams to integrate color solutions that achieve market success.
- Manage color calendars, timelines, and deadlines, ensuring efficient execution from concept to final product.
- Develop and maintain essential design assets, including line art, digital files, and material coordination.
- Create innovative and commercially viable color solutions for specific product categories or consumer segments.
- Contribute to seasonal color, material, and graphic direction, aligning with performance goals and consumer appeal.
- Conduct consumer and market research, applying insights to inform and enhance color strategies.
- Present and communicate color direction and merchandising strategies to various internal stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to advancing the functional expertise of color design within the organization, exploring new materials, special effects, and technologies.
- Assist with maintaining and updating design files, including line art creation and coloring.
- Support the development of palettes and ensure their achievability through collaboration with development teams.
- Contribute to the organization and maintenance of digital color libraries and systems.
- Work closely with design teams to ensure project schematics are accurate and prepared for hand-off.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2-4 years of directly relevant work experience.
- Alternatively:* Master’s Degree with 0-3 years of experience; Associate’s Degree with 1-3 years of experience; or High School Diploma with 3-5 years of experience.
- Substantial experience in product creation.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
- Highly organized with experience in agile work environments.
- Proactive and clear communicator.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with a leading global consumer goods brand.
