In this dynamic role, you will be instrumental in achieving ambitious carbon reduction targets and developing critical roadmaps for a carbon-neutral future. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams, influencing the design of new processes and equipment to ensure maximum energy efficiency from inception. Your expertise will not only optimize current operations but also lay the groundwork for future sustainable manufacturing practices.
**Your Impactful Responsibilities Will Include:**
* Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement cutting-edge energy efficiency standards and initiatives.
* Oversee and analyze energy consumption data, generating insightful reports to drive continuous improvement.
* Translate complex energy performance metrics into clear, actionable insights for leadership across all levels.
* Champion the implementation and ongoing maintenance of robust energy management systems, ensuring compliance with global standards like ISO 50001.
* Empower teams through comprehensive energy training and meticulous documentation reviews.
* Lead dynamic energy workshops and ‘treasure hunts’ to identify savings opportunities, driving their successful implementation.
* Guide facilities in crafting and refining strategic energy action plans.
* Drive the creation and adoption of energy best practices, significantly enhancing performance.
* Contribute to global initiatives by reviewing and analyzing innovative energy projects and best practices.
* Influence future designs by integrating energy efficiency specifications into new equipment programs from their inception.
* Facilitate participation in external energy programs, maximizing incentives and strategic energy management opportunities.
* Conduct comprehensive energy benchmarking to identify opportunities for improvement across all operational levels.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
* Minimum of five years of relevant energy experience in manufacturing and utilities, including systems such as compressed air, chillers, air handling units, and processes like paint spray booths, paint ovens, parts washers, and coolant pumping systems.
* Certified Energy Manager (CEM) professional certification.
* Competency in performing engineering analysis and calculations for all systems and processes that utilize electricity and natural gas.
* A basic understanding of the utility and incentive process to help facilities collect incentives and rebates for energy efficiency projects and initiatives.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and/or other software.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* At least 8 years of energy management experience.
* Additional energy-related professional certifications (e.g., Engineer in Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Measurements and Verification Professions (CMVP)).
