This is a Hybrid position based in Redmond, WA. It will start as a 9 month engagement but could extend up to 18 months.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will play a crucial role in developing and testing technologies for a massive server fleet. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and security of critical infrastructure, contributing to a global network that powers businesses worldwide. This is an opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with a highly skilled team, and expand your technical expertise in a dynamic environment.

Be a part of a team dedicated to security hardware and intellectual property, primarily working with open-source projects and some internal code review. Contribute to supporting the development and testing of technologies deployed in a large-scale server fleet. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with one of the largest cloud service providers, gaining valuable experience in a rapidly evolving industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans for server hardware.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the development team to improve hardware functionality.
  • Deploy and manage test machines.
  • Contribute to open-source projects.
  • Conduct code reviews.
  • Create comprehensive and detailed reports.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, 2-3 days onsite.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience testing data center/server hardware.
  • 7+ years of development experience with C++ and Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD and ADO pipelines.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Ubuntu Server platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project needs.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Rust.
  • Experience with open-source projects.
