Join a leading healthcare organization as a Financial Coordinator, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the best possible care while maximizing financial coverage and reimbursement. As a key liaison between patients, insurance providers, and internal teams, you’ll navigate the complexities of healthcare finance, making a tangible difference in people’s lives.
As a Financial Coordinator, you will be instrumental in facilitating seamless access to vital medical services. Your expertise in insurance verification, pre-authorization, and financial counseling will ensure patients can focus on their health, knowing their financial needs are being expertly managed. You will collaborate closely with medical teams, patients, and families, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate throughout their healthcare journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and ensure timely and accurate prior financial authorizations for patient admissions, procedures, and other related services.
  • Verify insurance coverage, evaluate benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations for outpatient procedures and hospitalizations.
  • Initiate patient registration and manage medical records, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Meet with patients and families to discuss insurance benefits, clarify coverage, and assist with application processes for additional coverage.
  • Actively participate in financial clearance meetings with the transplant program team.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers to expedite authorization processes.
  • Track and manage interactions with physician consultants and adhere to financial clearance policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvements and maintain organized filing systems.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficiency with Windows-based office software, computers, and operating systems
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette
  • Basic math skills
  • Familiarity with computer applications related to patient accounts processing
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $37.15  to $41.28 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
