Position: Pre-press Operator

Qualifications:

Color management experience

* Strong hands-on Flexo process work experience

* Mac OS/Windows atmosphere

* Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, Esko Artwork Software

* Workflow building experience

* Color separation output ability and knowledge of trapping

* Organized and detail oriented

Strong communication skills. Written and oral. Flexible personality to work with a broad range of personalities. Establish comfort level and build relationships with internal company staff, customers, and suppliers.

Job Description:

Supports sales team, customer service staff and the production team to define print specifications, production schedules for printing plates and specification proofs, outsourcing, and delivery printing plates to ensure delivery schedules are met to plan.

Review artwork for new or repeat jobs. Make the proper decisions to prepare artwork and separation to conform and maximize to our printing capabilities.

* Work with electronic files from customers to manipulate, edit and process files for printing

* Ensure all customer specs are met. Analyze filed for fonts, images, separation, color and printability

* Quality assurance of proofs, plates and files

*Problem solves, multi-task, communicate effectively

*Respond to inquiries and complaints

*Maintain prepress computer software and equipment and schedule all printer & external hard drive equipment maintenance

• Reviews pre-press materials, including final electronic or hard copy files, separation-color, composed color and die-line prints (proofs) to ensure quality of specification meets standards.
• Working with customers to communicate how to generate a art file that can maximize printing results.
• Working and communicating with suppliers to ensure the process is manages and printing plates arrive at optimum condition to enhance our quality and efficiency for our printing department.
• Prepares final print and email files for release to transfer to pre-press and printing plate supplier to artwork deployment.
• Manages, organizes and archives artwork and printing plate inventory.
• Continuous education and training to improve our prepress department.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35 to $38.50 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
