Senior Marketing Program Manager – Go-to-Market Operations
Contract Position | 6 Months | Remote-Friendly (East Coast)
A leading e-commerce company is seeking a Senior Marketing Program Manager to join our Go-to-Market Operations team. This team is responsible for driving successful, on-time execution and delivery of large-scale marketing campaigns and product launches. The programs we work on are large in scale of spend, impact, outreach, channels and teams involved.
In this role, you will orchestrate many concurrent programs with strategic IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications) and Private Brands leaders. You will work cross-functionally to proactively identify, monitor, communicate and resolve potential roadblocks, and establish durable programming mechanisms. You will build project plans & timelines, solve problems and communicate progress to stakeholders. Your projects will vary in size, ask, and scope.
You have experience in and understand well the complexities of integrated marketing campaigns, retail, merchandising and vendor funded program management. You enjoy mobilizing cross-functional teams, you are an excellent communicator, an enthusiastic and proactive problem solver who is engaged at all levels of the project, possessing a heightened sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability with a proven track record to lead projects from planning through completion.
What You’ll Do:
Own Timelines & Delivery: Lead multiple, concurrent programs end-to-end, ensuring on-time completion that drives customer value, ROI, and team impact.
Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong, trusted partnerships across Marketing, Retail, Creative, Channels, Category Management, Promotions, Customer Service, and other teams to deliver seamless execution.
Problem Solve Proactively: Anticipate and resolve challenges with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset. Take action independently and ask for forgiveness later rather than waiting for direction.
Coordinate End-to-End Execution: Work closely with Marketers, Channel Owners, and Creative teams to ensure flawless campaign delivery for both retail-forward campaigns and private brand commercialization.
Manage External Partners: Align vendors and partners on timelines and deliverables, ensuring successful execution of funded campaigns and vendor-funded relationships.
Be the Program Expert: Serve as the subject matter expert, setting expectations, guiding stakeholders, and ensuring clarity across the lifecycle. Communicate complex information simply and clearly to diverse audiences.
Improve & Simplify: Use data to refine processes, streamline execution, and scale efficiencies across programs.
Influence Marketing Strategy: Provide insights and feedback to Marketing Leadership from a program management perspective to strengthen campaign effectiveness.
Optimize Tools & Data: Leverage project management tools to track progress, manage stage gates, and capture data that informs decisions, goals, and growth.
Establish Scalable Processes: Partner with stakeholders to design and manage clear, actionable workback plans and durable processes that accelerate speed to market.
What You’ll Need:
Required Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in a fast-paced marketing environment directly managing multiple, cross-functional programs
- Must have hands-on experience with Smartsheet and Workfront – you’ll need to dive in immediately with no ramp-up time
- Proven program management experience (not just marketing strategy or creative operations)
- Experience working with senior-level stakeholders (director level and above)
Preferred Experience:
- Additional experience with Asana, Jira, or similar project management platforms
- Background in product organizations, e-commerce, or agency environments
- Experience with retail campaigns, holiday campaigns, and promotional campaigns
Key Competencies:
- Self-starter mentality: Demonstrates autonomy, takes ownership, and acts without needing constant direction
- Exceptional communication: Can wrangle diverse groups and explain complex concepts simply without talking in circles
- Action-oriented: Proven ability to think critically, pivot quickly, and adjust workback plans while delivering on time and within budget
- Strong ability to negotiate, resolve issues, and align stakeholders toward shared goals
- High standards for accuracy, organization, and process discipline
- Trusted for composure and clear decision-making in fast-moving or ambiguous situations
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
- PMP certification preferred
Location Requirements:
- Must be located on the East Coast for time zone alignment
- Remote-friendly with optional office access in Boston, Minneapolis, or Florida locations
What NOT to Apply If:
- You’re primarily a marketing strategist looking to drive strategy rather than operations
- You have only creative operations experience without program management background
- You come from a pure consulting background without hands-on program management experience
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned program manager to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while supporting critical marketing initiatives during a high-growth period.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $65 to $70/HR. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
